DELNOR-WIGGINS BEACH
NAPLES, FL
DATE HIKED: Multiple times; most recent January 1, 2022
FELLOW HIKERS: solo
TIME: 8:00 to 9:15 am
WEATHER: The fog was thick when I left the Residence Inn near I-75; the air felt wet and cool before the sun broke through at the end.
DISTANCE: 3.7 miles (not quite to the Ritz and back)
DIFFICULTY: a walk on the beach
KARMA IS THE BEACH: For the second day in a row, I was waved in without having to pay with the trust I would get a state park pass on January 1 (did). Super cool. I was able to immediately repay this generosity as I started my walk. A guy driving one of the service vehicle carts had gotten himself into deep sand, then realized he was going the wrong way. I was able to push him out far enough to get momentum going in the right direction again. Glad it was at the outset of the walk and a good feeling!
